The Engagement Forum is comprised of banking executives and business experts including co-CEO of Global Banking and Markets at HSBC, Georges Elhedery, Morgan Stanley's COO Arun Kohli, and Stephen Gilderdale, Chief Product Officer at interbank communication standard SWIFT.

Bank of England, central bank of United Kingdom on Sep 29 has announced the membership of its CBDS Engagement and Technology Forums. The forum includes leading companies in technology and finance includingg Google, Amazon, Paypal, Mastercard etc.

The Forum will help the bank to understand the technological challenges of designing, implementing and operating a CBDC.

This week's announcement is a signal that Bank of England is committed to its' CBDC plans. It is ramping up its research into Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) with selection of top banking and fintech experts.

The forum includes "senior stakeholders from industry, civil society and academia including Paypal's blockchain & cryptocurrency CTO - Edwil Aoki, Principal software engineer at Google - Will Drewry, Payment manager from Consensys - Matthieu Saint Olive. It also includes executives and payment experts from AWS, Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, R3, IMB and Spotify.

The Engagement Forum also includes banking executives and business experts from HSBC, Morgran Stanley and SWIFT.
